Silver Surf Beach Resort: What’s Happening in Florida Vacations Now

Silver Surf Beach Resort on Anna Maria Island in Bradenton, Florida has friendly staff, nice clean remodeled rooms, and a price that can’t be beat. If you’re tired of the same old chain hotels, and you want to be near the beach, Silver Surf is for you. The beach is right across a small street, and there are excellent restaurants nearby. Here’s a quick update on what’s hot on Anna Maria Island:

  • Bean Point. This is an amazing white sand beach, warm and calm and perfect for kids. You can walk far out into the water, and it will still be only waist high. You might be lucky enough to have a dolphin swim by, and there are lots of shells and sand dollars to pick up. Let Silver Surf Beach Resort pack a picnic lunch for you, and make sure you take lots to drink, since there are no facilities. Don’t forget the sun block and a parasol.

  • Anna Maria City. Located at the north end of the island on which Silver Surf Beach Resort is located, Anna Maria City retains its “Old Florida” influence. Visitors can explore the Historical Complex and the old city jail. The island was originally settled by Indians and then discovered by Spanish explorers in 1530. There are two other cities: Holmes Beach, which is the business center, and Bradenton Beach.

  • Bradenton Beach area attractions. Bradenton Beach is full of attractions, such as Cortez Historic Fishing, Florida’s only remaining early fishing village, Crowley Museum and Nature, with hiking trails through swamps and buildings, and de Soto National Memorial, the park that commemorates Hernando de Soto’s expeditions (open December to April).

Of course, there’s no reason to leave the Silver Surf Beach Resort, with its fifty well-appointed Florida style rooms. Amenities include a private white sand beach, an outdoor heated pool, complimentary beach towels, umbrellas and lounge chairs.
