Family Sailing Trips

Take Our Quiz for Sailing Safely

Sailing with young children can be a great adventure.  As a parent, you don't need to be an expert sailor to enjoy family cruising.  Memories that can last a lifetime are made sailing with your children and spouse and you can see some of the most beautiful places in the world by vessel.  I could go on and on listing the benefits and giving tips for embarking on a sailing cruise with your family.  However, I think I can offer an even greater service by referring you to some books that will help you immensely if you are thinking of cruising with your family.

Family Sailing Trips Books

These are a few books that I can recommend for sailing with children whether you've done it before and want some ideas for keeping the children occupied and having fun, from where to disembark.

  • Adventuring with Children by Nan Jeffrey (there is an entire chapter on sailing). Avalon House, 1990.
  • Cruising with Children by Gwenda Cornell. Sheridan House, 1992.
  • Babies Aboard by Lyndsay Green. International Marine, 1990.

Also, you should take our Safe Sailing Quiz and make sure you are ready for a family cruise this spring or summer.
